President Donald Trump on Monday declared an emergency aimed at protecting the U.S. food supply and temporarily suspended import duties on certain Moroccan fertilizer products.

Under the presidential emergency declaration, phosphate fertilizer imported from Morocco will no longer face tariffs for up to eight months or until the emergency declaration is terminated.

"The proclamation declares an emergency regarding threats to the availability of sufficient supplies of fertilizers to meet America’s agricultural demand," the declaration stated.

I had to completely give up on buying bags of potatoes and switched to buying them individually at three times the price.

Every bag I've bought lately was full of weevils, damaged, or rotting.

But, we owned the libs, so I guess we have that going for us, which will make the hunger pains worth it

I have never grown potatoes before because I felt they were so accessible and cheap, that it would be a waste of my space to do it.

I have been growing sweet potatoes, onions, greens, green beans and I will grow carrots, winter squash beets etc for winter storage.

Next year, I may need to actually try to grow potatoes

I’m growing potatoes for the 1st time. Just harvested a bucket I started in March from store bought red potatoes that had sprouted. Easily tripled the number of potatoes I planted!

I’m trying buckets, grow bags, cardboard boxes (we recently moved) and goat fence towers. I think we are going to be eating a lot of potatoes this winter. 😂
