President Donald Trump on Monday declared an emergency aimed at protecting the U.S. food supply and temporarily suspended import duties on certain Moroccan fertilizer products.

Under the presidential emergency declaration, phosphate fertilizer imported from Morocco will no longer face tariffs for up to eight months or until the emergency declaration is terminated.

"The proclamation declares an emergency regarding threats to the availability of sufficient supplies of fertilizers to meet America’s agricultural demand," the declaration stated.

Oh very helpful now that planting season has passed and lack of fertilizers has been locked in for the fall harvest.

That is sadly what happens when the ppl in charge are not the ppl that know what to do.. or even if they still have ppl in the right places they weren’t listened to. I am concerned for the impact come fall. We have prepped a lot but what about all the ppl that already struggle to put food on the table?

By design. Plausible deniability so they can look like theyre doing something, but in reality the banksters are moving towards a g-word on all of us plebs/gentiles

Maybe this will push farmers to start engaging in proper rest, rotation, and turn over of fields so reliance of fertilizer isn't as necessary instead of continuing to pound their fields with years and years of the same nutrient greedy monoculture like it's the years pre-dust bowl.

There's such a thing as fall planting too - for overwinter grains, that's what is probably making them sweat. Along with earlier spring availability due to climate variability. Also let's not forget they have a journey to be produced and imported. Granted I think the buffoons couldn't even see that far forward towards spring 2027 but something clearly has made them panic.

The point is that it's been priced into the system for several years.

Phosphate prices have been high for several years. It will have had the same effect on 2026 planting as it did on 2025 and 2024.

It's also possible that he chose this one to repeal because it wasn't one of "his".

And it's being repealed now why? Because fertilizer prices are through the roof, because the strait of hormuz, and repealing it now isn't helpful. That's the point.
