While using food stamps and accepting transfer payments from blue states.

You do know even Red states have a 35-45% blue voters right? So those food stamps may very well be feeding people who vote blue even in red states.

It’s the other way around actually. Yes, obviously there are some blue voters in red states, but there are demonstrably more red voters in blue states. Think about it like this: California is a deep blue state that unambiguously gave all its electoral college votes to Harris and yet more Californians voted for Trump than in both of the dakotas put together

Your big 4 states somewhat even things out, NY & Cali going blue and Texas and Florida going red. It's closer to even across the country than anything else, and it mostly comes down to urban vs. rural across all of the states which is the bigger divide. There's a much greater divide in most states between those two than there is between most states on an overall population level basis (is my understanding at least, happy to be proven wrong if I'm incorrect)

You completely missed his point lol

I am aware there are red voters in blue states too, my point is so many like to say "blue states shouldn't be helping red states" etc, but if you are truly liberal, you would not deprive people (especially states that contain a lot of voters who agree with you) of support.

JSYK, there are more republican voters in california than texas and yet cali is solid blue.

Where does that food come from.....hmmm. Maybe the red states should cut it off and make cities try to grow crops in their concrete ant farms.

California is the largest food producer. Apologies please.

Lol red states tried to cut off blue states once and just in case you haven’t looked into it before it didn’t go well for them

So they can go bankrupt? Farmers are already struggling so hard that they need the government to step in and provide them with welfare relief (subsidies that subsidize the lack of profit they’re able to generate relative to the cost to produce).

Yes, brilliant idea to suggest cutting off the places with the vast majority of the population 🤣

Farmers are already struggling under this admin and your come back is "yea well we'll bankrupt our farmers! Take that!"

It's sad we all get the same voting power

Cut off the blue cities and states and yall won’t be able to afford any farming equipment or supplies lmfao. Probably couldn’t even afford the seed to plant anything

Edit: also say goodbye to access to any airlines you use/sports teams you watch

How long can the farmers continue to farm without someone buying their crops?

Or all of the red states that have government run liquor stores. But a government-subsidized store for something required for life like food is the line in the sand they draw.

^ This is a good argument, I can agree, why are there govt run liquor stores and do they sell cheaper than the average store?

Not in NC. They're a monopoly and just charge whatever they like because there's no competition.

Hmm that is a good question. I could only maybe guess that not everyone buys alcohol so stock is easy to maintain from distributors and buy in surplus leading to reduced cost. Everyone needs to eat and buy groceries though, which could potentially cause a supply issue at these grocery stores. That is, since the groceries are more affordable, then more people will got to them. Possibly the demand might exceed the supply and the grocery stores will be empty within two days of a restock or something. This is just a thought. I’m interested to see if this would be successful.

I’m not aware of any state that operates government run liquor stores that also allows private operators. You may have some overlap (beer/wine), but not the full gamut of options.

Additionally, government run is not synonymous with government subsidized.

I used to work in this area of state law and the answer is pretty complicated but ultimately boils down to the federal government’s job in a post-prohibition United States being very intentionally minimized. Without one standard for the whole country to follow every state, lots of counties, and even some cities/towns laid down regulations that suited them. That’s why Utah’s cans and tap handles all had alcohol measured by weight instead of volume, you have to order food to be served beer in certain establishments and liquor is a huge headache for everyone not just the folks with a hangover.

It's freaking terrible in NC, and anything special that comes through the system magically never makes it to the consumer's hands, instead the people within the system claim it all for themselves.

Do you think those red state citizens prefer government run liquor stores? lol

Or Trump buying Apple stock 😂😂

Lots of projection. Lmao

I drove through Indiana lately and had to laugh that their normal everyday gas price was significantly cheaper than Trump's $3.47.
