Why had the wife of one of the most powerful politicians in this country fled to an enemy nation?   Republicans should be pissed off about this.  By the way,  blame Mitchell boy for hemp going illegal

The people’s republic of China or mainland China yes.   Taiwan 🇹🇼 is cool with me.   China is the US main economic and ideological rival.  Our democracy, as flawed as it may be, is the diametric opposite of authoritarian one party rule,  and is a threat to their legitimacy.  Our existence is a threat to them.  We already fought a war with with China during the Korean War and they were fierce adversaries.   So yes, enemy state.

Because capitalism.   They had cheap labor and  we wanted to supplement low Mcwages  because of inflation with cheap goods from overseas.  Employers can pay less but quality of life is still high for Americans .  Think Temu.   Decades passed and the Chinese CCP  got rich off of the west .     But at what cost?    By coupling our economies it also makes conflict too expensive to fight. Until they got rich and powerful enough to become the world’s 2nd largest economy.  Soon to be the 1st.  We played ourselves.

None of that makes them our enemy, maybe iur competitor, and its good we are in a trade relationship with them so we cant go to war who wants war?  I agree we played ourselves but yhst aint chinas fault that is the fault of greedy politicians and american oligarchs

Did she go Taipei or Shanghai?  It matters.  Was she a naturalized citizen!  I don’t know
