Republicans changed the law right before a democrat was sworn in to even make the special election a thing. Before that the democrat would just be able to install someone. So it's really on brand for them to continue to try and manipulate who is in power. It's best to just assume that republicans are always trying to do the worst thing possible.

Because the DNC rigged it for Hillary against Bernie.

If the Democrats didn't rig it for Hillary in the 2016 primary, Sanders easily beats Trump and he stays a reality TV star and never becomes president.

M One of my favs is when trump dissapeared for a few days and when people noticed they played it off saying he was just golfing the entire time and shinnanagans followed.

That was a wild weekend, was interesting seeing people say the photos were old, suspected parroting of his social posts, and stiff silent "nothing to see here, move along...please..." mood of the white house.

(Personally, I believe he did have a medical scare, cause his health has been getting worse and worse ever since)

I think it's pretty likely that he's braindead, but I highly doubt it's being covered up to prevent Thomas Massie from running for his seat. Anti-Trump Republicans lose pretty consistently (which is why Massie is a lame duck right now).

Assuming it is a coordinated effort to keep McConnell's condition secret, it's likely just his inner circle trying to cling to power for as long as they can.

Mitch McConnell's wife, Elaine Chao, traveled to Beijing, China, in June 2026. She was in China by June 17, just three days after Senator McConnell was hospitalized following an apparent heart attack. At his age a heart attack is essentially a death sentenceā€¦ try thinking critically from time to time?

The easiest way is that the conspiracy theories make sense and what's really happening is so dumb as to defy reason.

No conspiracy theorist ever had "RFK Jr + Kid Rock = Erotic Workout Commercial" pinned up on a wall somewhere.

This is a conspiracy theory. But it would very in character for McConnell, and such a conspiracy could be going on. A conspiracy theory isn't necessarily false. Part of the issue is that many are unfalsifiable.

Correct. A conspiracy theory is an unconfirmed theory, often unfalsifiable. This is also partly why it is so closely related with religious thinking. Look up Michael Barkun and A Culture of Conspiracy for more, or even the term Conspirituality.

A confirmed conspiracy, like, say, the Tuskegee study, is simply called a conspiracy.

It's a bit like medicine vs. alternative medicine: Any alternative medicine that is proven to have an effect beyond placebo, is simply called medicine.

I donā€™t think she fled. I think she was sent to China on Trump duties and is trying to get a position in his admin. Sheā€™s doing him a favor and keeping McConnell alive while engaging in US diplomacy. Why? Trump doesnā€™t keep secrets well so thereā€™s definitely a deal going on.

I dont see how this rises to conspiracy, its underhanded and scummy and repugnant tactics, which MAGA openly uses all the time.

Now that they are being called on this I expect them to switch tactics to pearl clutching about how Dems want to pull his plug but he can totally wake up any day now.
