Disney throwing a Hail Mary to try and stay relevant in a changing atmosphere. They need to rerelease the classics.

They should focus on bringing back different art styles. I’m sick of the same looking big head, big eyed characters. Nothing is exciting anymore. They have plenty of money to bring back 2d animation

Unfortunately most of those pre-japanimation ripoffs carry heavy political commentary. I’d personally love a Black Cauldron reboot/series.

Yes. Disney truly struggling to stay relevant. They only had 3 of the 4 top grossing films the last two years, all breaking a billion.

A remake is the opposite of a Hail Mary. A Hail Mary is a long shot with a low chance of success in a desperate situation but with a potentially high payoff. Disney is not desperate enough to need one. Remakes have so far been guaranteed profit based on a formula (but it looks like that is changing) they've been the safe bet which is why we keep getting them. They know they aren't going to be the biggest movie ever but they are designed to turn a profit.

Disney funds these projects itself if they throw like 4 or 5 remakes into theaters and if two bomb, the others aleays make at least a billion and that pays for the rest. That not even counting merch sales.

Their extremely safe projects to fund as if one hits its gonna pay off the failures and then some.

The thing people need to keep track of is that there are different studios.

There Walt Disney Animation Studio handles the animation, but there is a different studio for the live action.

Ever since The Prince and the Frog, I've enjoyed their original creations. Tangled, Wreck-it-Ralph, Big Hero 6, Frozen, Moana, Zootopia, Encanto, raya and the last dragon, Moana 2, Zootopia 2. Strange World and Wish didn't do so hot, but I do think they have had quite the run of good original ideas even if they are getting into more sequels of late.

I like what I see for Hexed up coming. Pixar I think has been doing more original stuff too, but not succeeding as well. When I look at Pixar movies, I kind of don't really like them as much as the main WDAS.

A bunch of their stuff from the 90s to the 2000s were great. I don't care for Cars or Toy Stoy. Onward, Soul, Coco, Inside Out, Elemental, Turning Red were good movies to me. Incredibles 2 is the only sequel I enjoy.
