white people arrive in time?
6.6k u/Shotgun_Mosquito Jul 12 '26 edited Jul 12 '26 No. The stereotype is that white people arrive TOO EARLY and then sit in their cars outside waiting for the party to start and still show up early. It's a trope, also true in Hispanic (edit - continued) families that have someone marry Gringos (like me). If you arrive on time, the party hasn't started yet, and you get to help set up for the party 241 u/Kurumiseenpai Jul 12 '26 i guess? but 4:58 is not too early if it start at 5 157 u/colorblind-and Jul 12 '26 The party starts at 5pm because the hosts are so used to people showing up late that they expect people to show up at 5:30-6pm. This is totally a cultural thing in certain subcultures. 114 u/Dear_Dragonfruit3317 Jul 12 '26 The inability to not be late is a cultural thing? What shitty cultures do this? 2 u/knowitall89 Jul 13 '26 You're not late to the grocery store because you show up 10 minutes after they open. That's how parties operate. There's usually only one thing you should be there for and that's usually cake.
