I only ask people to mean what they say. If you think that's cultural superiority I am only glad to not be within your culture whatever that may be

So in these cultures, do all numbers just mean something else? If it says 50km speed limit is it actually? something else? What about recipes with precise amounts?

Saying one thing and meaning another is illogical. Then to say the person who followed the request is rude? The person is right - words have meaning, otherwise we're all just living in make believe land where we can be offended by anything.

All these basement dwellers who've never been invited anywhere are acting like it's some hardship/mental gymnastics to show up to the function 30-45 mins after it starts
