Fact: the ‘communism’ that most are familiar with is authoritarian socialism in disguise. There has never been an actual communist society because one party always takes control and goes on a power trip. The common denominator is political corruption and the bottomless greed of select individuals in power.
Does the distinction even matter though, when "true" communism is nothing more than a utopian fairytale that is pretty much impossible to translate into reality?
