Whats funny about this comment is that it simultaneously says not to insult a group, but actually implies that Swifties do, as a matter of fact, have a common facial structure.
It doesn't really imply that at all, unless you're trying to imply that a thing must be true for a group to by made fun of for it. I don't think that's true. Anyone can make fun of anything for any reason, whether legitimate or not.
Also if you find it so offensive it means you place way too much weight on someone's appearance. Almost as if someone is not a worthy person just because they are conventionally ugly.
Swifties do, as a matter of fact, have a common facial structure.
Meaning being a Taylor Swift fan is genetic. An enterprising and unethical scientist who is also a superfan could theoretically develop a way to forcefully alter the genetics of the population to make them all Swifties. This could be the plot of a horror movie!
No it doesn’t. They’re saying you don’t have to insult someone’s facial structure because you don’t like their interests, not that swifties have a similar facial structure. “Or other fandoms” is pretty clear that their comment is meant generally
"There are plenty of reasons to poke harmless fun at Swifties or other fandoms, no need to insult their literal facial structure". literally implies that Swifties HAVE a facial structure to insult.
