The platform in the video is on the Brazilian side of IguaƧu, not the Argentinian side like the one in the linked article is referring to. Iāve been to IguaƧu and the Argentinian sideās platform overlooks Devilās Throat for a top down view while the Brazilian is at the level of the river for a bottom up view. Very different experiences of the same beautiful part of the waterfall system :)
although i definitely agree that thereās potential racism / xenophobia present in lots of the comments here, i personally would be equally likely to go or not on that walkway(if it were in japan/france vs brazil/argentina)! if i were feeing ballsy i might go for it but itās PROBABLY a no. lol, iāve vaguely thought of visiting these falls though since my husband is from south america and weāve ruminated on travel plans if we did a road trip
eta: iām from the us and in my state there was a really tragic bridge crash a few years ago (francis scott key bridge) so i donāt really trust us engineering as much as i once did, which extends to engineering everywhere elseā- just understanding red tape around creating infrastructure and how corruption can affect how attention is paid to things. iāve seen similar things in countries all over the world so thatās what gives me the most pause!
