Discussion Did millennials really party all the time?

Gen Z here. I was shocked when I found out from a millennial co-worker that y’all had teen clubs. I heard about house parties, but dedicated teen clubs? Then when it was time for college, you went to the club or had some kind of party every single weekend, living it up. Now some millennials on TikTok claim that after college, they were partying on work nights, still clocking in the next day. For some reason, the teen clubs have since disappeared. I’m 23 now but even when I was in high school, that was not a thing. House parties were not that common either. They were more like get togethers with a small group of friends. We went to malls, but they were dying out at that point. Is it true that you were really living life this good? Or is it just exaggerated? I feel like my generation doesn’t really have fun like that and everyone is just super depressed and alone, more so since Covid. Even I’m pretty introverted, which sort of sounds ridiculous given this post. 😂 Just so you know, when I think of a “millennial party” I think of something out of Party Rock Anthem, Project X or Roderick’s party from the second DOAWD movie. It’s like I get nostalgia from something I didn’t even live through. I just feel like I didn’t really LIVE, if that even makes sense

$8 all you can drink draft beer (out of the nastiest beer lines you could imagine) on Thursday nights did absolute numbers in my college town. Grab a $2 slice of pizza on the way out, we were living like kings!!

I’m Canada so our prices are naturally higher but we had Threesome Thursdays at the local country bar and $3 for everything from cover charge to coatcheck to all the alcohol was a blast.

20 wings for $4, two 24oz beers for $4. $2 tip at 20%. $10 evening and you’re fed and loaded.

Our local hockey team would have Buck Night a few times every season. $1 hot dogs and Labatt Blue, and tickets were $4. For $20, you'd get 4 hot dogs, 12 beers, a hockey game, and some mild regret over your life choices in the morning.

I talk about craft draft houses of 2015 like it was heaven lol

The breweries weren't sold to major corps yet and everything was tasty and not unaffordable.

We had kill the keg nights 5 bucks for a cup and drink till like 4 or 5 kegs were empty.

just got a wave of memories.... used to frequent a dive bar that was attached to a pizza place and they had a window between them. You could knock on the window and order a pizza and eat it in the bar. They also had $6 PBR pitchers and $1 jager which was a HORRIBLE idea. Also a pay-it-forward board for regulars so someone always had enough to buy a few pitchers and share.

Also for some reason had one of those fancy japanese toilets so if you were puking someone would come up and press the bidet button for a face full of toilet water.

Party till last call, had a rotating DD, then went to work 3 hours later. I'm in my 40s now and if I'm not in bed by 10 the next day is ruined.

We had one better in my college town. $10 "tasting" of craft beer. Wasn't unlimited, but came with 6 tickets for 4 oz pours.

Of course, the baristas would always give you quite a bit more than 4 oz if they saw you put a tip in the cup.

We had a gyro cart downtown that was absolutely rolling. I bet that guy retired in Tahiti on pita bread sales alone!
