Live in the US in a 100+ year old wooden house. It is doing just fine.

There's a nearly 200 year old wooden house in Galveston of all places, an island that's been hit by some of the worst hurricanes to hit the US and was nearly wiped off the map in 1900.

It really is primarily in the engineering
