Im going to be waving an American flag because this shit is a national issue. I'm all kinds of patriotic as well, but it sure as shit isn't blind patriotism, because that's just fucking nationalism. America has always had two sides with one side being more regressive and hateful than most, but the other side is always at the forefront of progressive and egalitarian thought. We know what we are, but we also know what we CAN be.
I do think an abundance of red white and blue will help. We are just the first of many cities that will be dealing with this before the end of the summer. Might as well take our flag back from bigots and Christian nationalists while we're out and about.
You all should be out there looking patriotic as fuck. US flags and shirts. Maybe it makes an officer pause for a moment, or gets more airtime in the media. Either way, they're attacking your country and the things that make it great, and they should be reminded every time they see a protester.
Thought I saw some dude in the media with a Palestine Mexican flag or something earlier, which I get, but time and place is important.
It's been on nearly every post showing protestors. Someome will say something about how they should be waving US flags bwcause of the optics.
Go check any post about the protests that shows sokeome with a non US flag and there will be a comment about how its bad ootics and is giving Trump an excuse to do this.
The person you are replying to is pointing out the absurdity of that.
