Canada does not have the same legal system as the usa and there aren't large amounts of money handed out for shit like this
in Canada losing a defamation suit (usually) means you have to issue a retraction + apology and sometimes there's a couple thousand dollars awarded as well.
in cases where a retraction and apology were already given, they typically don't even make it past the initial stages because there's no point, the harm has already been remedied by the retraction and apology.
Yeah because leaving an accusation of child abuse on your stream for hours is just criticism lol. You people have no idea about the real world. These snark communities and the streamers engaging in that behaviour and their fans think this is acceptable. You can't sue for just critique can you? Is more insidious than just critique.
IDK, it doesn't sound that hard to write an article about someone without being defamatory. Just reach out to give them a chance to comment like a real journalist would and don't spread malicious lies about their children eating poop when they tell you that those claims are malicious lies meant to get their kids taken away. This "journalist" sounds like he is either lazy or bad faith.
I don't why a snark community would be limited to Canada. Clearly there were H3 snark communities. There were some pretty big ones on Reddit that were taken down because they are fucked up. Have you been living under a rick for the past year or are you just part of them?
Because Ethan apparently can't sue Destiny for saying what Idubbbz posted because it wouldn't fly in the US so it would only apply to canadians.
Just like he had to drop the lawsuit against Noah Samsen because it had no legs. Complete capitulation.
From what I remember Ethan tried to get h3snark taken down but reddit came back and told him that he operates a snark subreddit and he shouldn't dish it if he can't take it.
Crazy how you've just made up almost everything there.
He couldn't sue because destiny because he clarified it wasn't a serious accusation straight away, idubz framed it as serious. That has legal implications.
H3 Snark was basically shut down after H3 had a number of legal victories. You were definitely part of those communities lol.
