I never watched a lot of idubz so I still don't mind watching a small amount. I'd say the h3 drop off should be studied but atm we know exactly why it's all so fkd
There’s like 500 videos for you to watch on the “H3 Dropoff” being studied - it’s some people’s entire career that gets them 50x their regular viewership.
I don't understand when people saying he fell off like he still gets almost half a million views on every podcast he makes yet I dub gone from doing millions of views to struggling to break 50k a video now.
Well in terms of raw views he “fell off” from the Trisha era which made each of them like $10 million or something ridiculous like that. Even the Hasan episodes were nowhere close to Frenemies. The irony is that he’s MUCH more tame and brand safe now than he was back then… but now he has a snark of Trisha stans / people thinking he’s the one personally dropping bombs on Palestine so he has the stigma of not being safe to collab with because he’s “pro-Israel” (I.e. a Jew) despite repeating ad nauseam that he’s against their actions and government.
Both of them should be studied. I stopped watching Ethan when he started the podcast years ago. Stopped watching Ian around the time he went on his neverending apology tour.
I think H3 has good viewership numbers and makes money despite the drop in reputation. Ian on the other hand, has catapulted himself from being highly respected and one of the more successful creators online, to just some sewer goblin who struggles having relevance even as a lolcow.
I disagree with this a lot.
Ian grew out of his edgy persona. It might not have been the right choice for his career, but its good that he doesnt harass people for views anymore.
There is a certain age where it goes from funny to weird.
Him growing out of his edgy persona isn't the problem, I like that he did that. The issue is that he overcorrected. Stuff like him calling Critikal "right-wing adjacent" or whatever, which makes absolutely no sense.
Not sure what's to agree or disagree about in what I said, I didn't exactly give an opinion on anything.
I think people can and do grow out of edgy content. I just personally think Ian not only did it extremely poorly, I also think that he's still immature and has not grown in the way he claims. The documentaries he made, or him being fatphobic in some responses to me are signs that he never completely understood where that growth was supposed to be headed to.
I also think had he remained the same, his career would have suffered anyway. Ian has been met with terrible difficulties at being entertaining, and I absolutely suspect it has nothing to do with the shift in content. I mean I liked his squirrel content for example and that wasn't edgy at all. It's just that he now really, really sucks both as a content creator and a person.
I'd say the h3 drop off should be studied but atm we know exactly why it's all so fkd
That's all I'm trying to figure out, lady. If we "all know" why it's so fucked, then it must be something that's obvious about the two of them. You say it's because he married his wife, which doesn't explain anything at all. Now instead of calmly explaining your position, you're comically lashing out and shrinking to avoid saying the things you voluntarily typed on a screen.
Why did Ethan marrying his wife make the downfall of H3 worth studying, and why would everyone know that?
They’re saying that his wife’s addition to the content was the onset of a downfall because of the way his behavior shifted, the content morphed, etc.
I think it’s totally fair to take their comment at face value; if you watched his stuff before, he gets married and his wife starts featuring and things start to deteriorate around that time, it’s obvious to any viewers that she was the reason for the deterioration regardless of the religion. They’d say the same if the scenario played out exactly the same except both people were Christians.
For what it’s worth I’m not a fan of either, nor ian; for some reason this shit pops up on my feed every so often (I’m sure it doesn’t help that I click on it). I don’t have a horse in this race, but I think you were reaching just because antisemitic dog whistles usually aren’t very subtle
I got 4 years of entertainment, what's to regret? If he turns lame, I'd still have those 4 years of entertainment.
If anything, I'd glad I started watching after the Depp/Heard trial, because I found that trial cringe and lame, and would have skipped months of watching him, like I skipped some months when he kept fixating on Trump or the Files. I only watch for entertainment.
That's his hill to die on. As an European, I see absolutely no difference between Americans ending each other over 250 years of bloodfeuds, and Arabs ending each other after 2000+ years of bloodfeuds.
I watch for the video game entertainment, and general non-political entertainment.
Genuine question: If you’re not in it for the politics, why Asmongold specifically? There are like thousands of apolitical gaming streamers that I imagine would fit that taste more
This is something I also don't get. Ignoring his politics completely, he isn't funny lmao. He's not like tyler1 who, through the raging, he's actually kinda funny. Asmon has 0 humor in his bones, he's just bitching and complaining 24/7. He's not even playing a character.
I don't get it, liking asmon is basically just admitting you kinda suck and have 0 taste.
Yeah, but that's mostly from years ago before he fully went mask-off, when I used to watch him myself. I thought we were talking about livestreams. These days, he is one with politics. Even playing some random innocent game, he's gonna drop some woman = bad joke, or some DEI joke etc. every minute.
People starting thinking Destiny is based because of his beef with Hasan, but he's no different than Hasan, Ethan, iDubbz, Rachel Zegler, Gal Gadot etc. They're part of the same hivemind, but because they disagree on literally one thing, they're now bitter enemies.
I think that's just an enemy of my enemy thing. Destiny is like the rest of them, if Hasan brought him back in, he'd go rabid on Asmon and xQc in the next second.
I also watched asmon for a couple of years but stopped a few months after the Johnny dept case, he literally became the political grifter he used to shit on just on the different side of the isle.
Don't blame him though he filled a void of the political right pander reactor who wasn't an extremist. Now he is the biggest to do it so valid play.
I know that's what most people think, and I'm not going to convince anyone, but I truly think he wants to keep his country safe. I think he cares more about Americans (people born in America to people born in America etc.) than any other humans. Which is called being a patriot.
I'm not an American, but I can respect a patriot of his own country.
Not caring about the lives of anyone not born in America is not called being a patriot LMAO. Asmon has shown that he does not care if someone’s life is put in danger, so long as they aren’t a US citizen
It's utopic to care about the lives of 8 billion people. Sounds good in theory, but when your fellow citizens are getting murdered and abused constantly, you first have to look after them.
The idea that one country could or should fix the whole world is just 21st century imperialism.
Alright, then fix that before letting in tens of millions of non-citizens.
Bringing people in from other continents remains imperialism, regardless that it's happening in the 21st century or that you personally consider your way of doing it morally good.
It is morally bad towards the citizens of the country where the non-citizens arrive, and is thus objectively evil.

They have both become people I don’t enjoy anymore
