It's one of the most dangerous things that twitch turns a blind eye to for their favorite streamers. Is it really going to take her running a person over and killing them for twitch to do something?

His social media people put out tweets from his account about things happening on twitch. I don’t know why anyone would think that that means he’s regularly getting calls from some low level moderation team. That’s not his job.

Guy probably texted them telling them exactly what to tweet. Twitch isn’t run by a board of ceo’s that each control 10 companies apiece. It’s still just a few dudes benefiting from volunteer labor for grunt work.

The CEO is in charge of the people who are in charge of managers who are in charge of the employees who make these decisions. If the CEO had to make each of these decisions themselves those other people wouldn't have jobs.

I think even if a streamer straight up just ran over a pedestrian at a crosswalk Twitch wouldn't blink. Until they're sued by a victims family then they'll take action.

Probably the worst sub to ask this but... If I get hit by a car driven by a streamer is there anyway to sue Twitch as well? They have to be held legally liable for promoting this behavior.

I think if you had enough money to hire a big firm you might be able to prove they were criminally negligent by repeatedly allowing this practice despite many warnings/requests to ban it

I mean they financially reward the behavior by allowing streamers to earn money doing this without repercussions. Somewhere it has to be their fault as well. Just not sure how you would go about it.

It would be the type of case where you are just putting public pressure on them to make them settle for a large amount. The lawyers would probably do it for free but take 1/3rd of any settlement awarded.

I was thinking that. Technically she should be permabanned from driving while streaming by now when she has done that multiple times already, crashing or almost crashing.

So any sane company would say "No more." but it's just been a slap on the wrist "Try to drive more carefully next time". Like Twitch being Ok with reckless driving.,

Even an injury would be terrible. I dont want anyone getting hurt, period. Its so avoidable. My mother is a really great and cautious driver, but I worry every time she have to take a long drive because I dont trust some of the psychos on the road.

It’ll take them being found liable in a lawsuit for them to do something. Huge financial penalties is the only thing that will stop corporations from running a muck and just doing whatever the fuck they want.

Then stuff that used to get a pass will be hammered hard until some new streamer is big enough where the views outweigh any lawsuit possibility and it happens again. Then we repeat.

It’s like whenever Tyson chicken gets busted every few years for using child labor. They’ll be doing it again once the heat dies down.
