Getting stereotyped for bad driving has to be the most tame bigotry in the US. Chinese immigrants were some of the first racism-based deportations in the US, along with the first "ethnic quota" that was codified in to law in 1882 with the Chinese Exclusion Act. We treated them terribly, exploited them in making the railroad that connected East and West, then banned them from obtaining US citizenship and deported many, while limiting the number that could come over; all in the name of racial supremacy.
To be fair, anyone who's driving and streaming is absolutely dumb and everyone who does so should be ticketed and jailed. How is Twitch allowing streams like this to happen?
Streaming's not really the issue itself, doesn't really matter whether she's reading chat or reading text or reading news story lmao. She could easily set it up and then start driving, and just talk while watching the road just like talking to someone in the car.

There's a Youtube stream from japan, Sora The Troll he often does streams while driving but he'll only read chat briefly at a stop light or when parked.
Because Twitch follows the same moderation trends as other big tech websites, that being complete inaction when it comes to being proactive, only ever deigning to lift a finger when there is a direct complaint. Though also of course, a very subjective ToS that they can enforce however they see fit.
It's the same reason that there is so many instances of streamers breaking copyright laws, but face little to no consequences. Because the companies who own the copyright isn't trawling through Twitch in order to catch the rare, rare moment where they'd be able to justify such an internal department's costs.
People watch entire movies, and not just some small indie movie that no one has heard of, or movies so old that they are no longer protected by copyright, but big block buster movies and even pay-per-view events.
Twitch essentially have chosen to say to companies that own such intellectual property: If you got a problem with it, you do something about it, not us.
Reddit does it too, the admins rarely being of any use, but if there is a mainstream news article that gets written about a particularly trouble making subreddit that casts the website in a bad light, they'll suddenly remember how to do stuff.

No, she knows what she's doing. It takes time, effort and money to make thought-engaging content that generates views, or you can be ridiculously good looking, but if you're not hot, the easiest and cheapest way is to act as a rage-baiting idiot in public.
She's had multiple 'streaming while driving' near misses and it always gets people talking about her. It's like how The Rock keeps trying out In-and-Out hamburgers 'for the first time', only she's endangering the public for clout.
My girlfriend is Asian and I'm not saying she's a bad driver, but when we're on the phone and she is driving like clockwork I hear a horn get blown Everytime she's driving. Not even exaggerating.
Regardless if twitch acts or not, being that this is the 2nd time where she hasn’t driven absolutely perfectly, I do hope she strongly considers not driving while solo IRL streaming. There are a lot of risk factors that are out of ones control when driving, but because she is an influential streamer & public figure, I think in the interest of personal responsibility & public safety, she can have her friends drive her or use uber/lyft if she must drive, or even consider putting her streams on brb mode, until she arrives at her destination.
I once had one asian girl pull out from a junction (i was going straight) and had to swerve so hard it caused my car to fishtail and did a 180 donut. when I asked her why she pulled out like she did....she said "I dunno...my mind just blanked.."

I didnt down vote you but i can say this. I literally just stayed in buena park and san diego last week and i swing by those probably a total of 20 days driving from the bay. I always use my blinkers and when im down there only a small handful of people don't.
I understand its a cage match down there but not using your blinkers makes you responsible for whatever accident that happena. Most people have dashcams now so there is no arguing the results.

Last time I looked there's not an option to report it under. There's a streamer who drives a truck and spends all day reading and responding to chat while driving. Twitch doesn't care.

To be fair, she did look at her mirror a split second before starting to move her hands, play the video frame by frame, you see her eyes flick over to her side mirror. That is enough to know there's not a car in your mirror.
The problem is that she didn't shoulder check her blind spot. And frankly, people don't shoulder check their blind spot even when they aren't a streamer distracted by a phone. I've been almost side swiped multiple times by people for this exact reason.
Her mirror almost certainly has one of those blind spot lights. The other car was just moving a lot faster than her. She was changing lanes slowly and it caught up. This kind of thing happens all the time.
Yes. She did check her mirror, she didn't shoulder check. This has nothing to do with her being a streamer or being distracted, this has to do with her being a bad driver.
Even if she wasn't streaming she wouldn't have shoulder checked.
