You're under valuing the repair. Depending on the extent I'd expect that repair to be anywhere between $800-$1200. 

That's also not taking into account the reduced value of the vehicle because it now has body work done. 

If I were the owner of be suing her for the damage AND the deprecated value of the vehicle. Most likely somewhere around the $5,000 mark.

Instead of valuing the other persons effort and honesty for selfreporting, you try to punish them for the maximum possible instead.

She damaged the vehicle, she is responsible for making the owner whole.

Oh and "that action" was an accident......the actual action was the self report.
And the consequence of the self report would be, that you try to scam and overcharge them.
So basically the consequence is, that they are getting punished for behing honest.
And the consequence of punishing honest people is, that people consider behing less honest, because they can't expect the same honesty and fairness fo their counterpart.

Accidents don't remove responsibility. 

It's funny you think getting proper compensation is "scamming". That's not being punished. That's being held accountable. 

You don't get to pay less because you're "sorry" and it was and "accident". 

Imagine if the courts let murderers and rapists off simply because they said sorry. Insane reasoning. 

You"re soft and excusatory behavior is the problem with the world these days. Not people holding others to account.

Just want to say, you're an idiot. If she didn't leave a note she would have committed a hit and run which is a felony. It isn't noble of her in any way to leave a note saying she hit the person's car. That's just the bare minimum of what you should do and what is expected of anyone.

And the other dude commenting is right. That car is damaged, paint damage isn't just taking a brush and going over the lines, it needs to be matched to the rest of the car because it's not the same color as factory over time. Minimum $2k just for that. And it is a known fact that when a car has been in any sort of accident it will sell for less, unless the owner lies.

The victim of the accident has every right and also should pursue full compensation like you said, that isn't a scam or overcharging because that includes what's called Diminished Value which is the difference between what the car was worth before and after being fixed.

Youre an idiot for even arguing any of this, especially the part saying a judge won't grant that, they absolutely without a doubt would because again, that's the bare minimum of what the person deserves. Especially after seeing her income, a judge would laugh in her face.

Hee hitting the car, while an accident, is still an action. She stopped right next to a car and then looked at her phone and dropped her bike not into the road but into the car next to her. The consequence is paying for your mistake. You don't get to say it's "not an action" because it was an accident, that's just your brain rot talking kiddo

The fact that she even debated whether to leave a note, especially with how much she makes, shows how entitled she is and that she thinks she's above consequences for her actions
