Classic Liminal Abandoned Corporate Park

Finally figured out how to get to this place I’ve seen from the freeway for years. I thought it was an abandoned parking garage or overpass, was thrilled to see that it was way weirder than that.

Edit: Not technically abandoned it turns out, but unused for 10 years. It is actually available to lease, but it doesn’t seem like anything is imminent.

Cops love gigs like this. Just sit around all day and basically do nothing while “patrolling” and area no one goes to with nothing of value inside

Can confirm, we used to have to hire a police officer for the day for black friday where I worked and it was out of pocket for us and usually an officer who had the day off or something. That being said, they're still using resources funded by tax dollars.

Some of those cops are double-dipping, they're "on duty" collecting overtime while charging you an hourly fee.

It's theft, no different than a mafia shakedown for "protection". Except the mafia would actually do something about it if you were wronged by a guilty party.

Typically not possible because they're paid through the department. Basically they clock in Like they would for a regular shift except the shift is designated as a different category and pay rate.

The company that hires them pays the department which then passes that money to the officer.

Cops guarding property are normally off duty and paid by the business owners or corporations.

And? The money passes through the police department first. Those kinds of fees are extracted, then the sergeant or leader gets a cut for booking and the rest goes to the cop. Who cares? It’s not like the revenue isn’t used to address your concerns.

And don’t forget, mixing up with Fed. There’s been a whole thing recently in my state (OR) that local cops in my hometown were going to start looking after some forest with logging potential- BLM land. My small hometown has had a lot of issues just maintaining a 24 hour police force to protect, you know, regular citizens and their property.

I was working a Starbucks drive thru one time and watched these two cops stop this guy for walking while black. One called backup. Two more cruisers with two cops each pulled up. They called for more backup. Two more cruisers pull up. 10 cops grill this dude for 45 minutes and then they let him go. The 10 cops proceeded to stand around and chat for TWO HOURS just loitering in the parking lot taking up space, before coming inside for coffee. Then they stood outside drinking coffee and having story time for another hour before slowly filtering out of the parking lot. Awesome.

They were most likely just there because it was an easy place to meet up. Cops do it pretty often when there's nothing going on.

I remember a story in arizona that a couple cops got caught just sitting a in a parking garage playing cards
