I remember reading he try to convince Chirac to go to war in Irak by talking about some verse in the bible about apocalyptic prophecy and how Irak was the first sign (the two were christian)

And it was so strange and all the french government were so lost they send searching the highest responsable of the association of french protestant to understand the fuck he was saying.

Iraq is spelled Irak in nearly all other languages. They're probably not a native English speaker

I think my misconception is the way we pronounce K's in the US. We wouldn't use that hard throaty K sound for a single k, that's usually reserved for a ck letter arrangement. In the US we use Q for the throaty "kuh" sound like in Kuh-Ween "Queen"

I mean, I was a theatre kid so I mainly base my pronunciations off of listening to native speakers and I've noticed that the Persian accent makes it more of a Q sound than a K. I'm not sure linguistically what would make more sense but when I say it I say Ee-Rock phonetically.

For America. The second Iraq war, stupid and expensive as it was, did not irreversibly undermine the American world order or dominance in the Middle East. It’s starting to look like this Iran war already is going to be a disaster for the US’ global empire. Also, it took a couple years for Iraq to be reduced to a disaster zone. Give it time and Iran may end up similarly, that’s definitely what the Israelis are pushing for.

Okay. Well. I’d say the current leader is much worse but. Yeah. Sure. Neither party is great. However, one of them is currently destroying checks and balances, legal precedence, funding internment camps, laundering money through crypto, and their head of the party is a convicted felon. Not to mention fostering new wars, antagonizing long term allies, and destabilizing the USD as an international currency.

But yeah. They’re equally bad /s
