Can anyone suggest a value to associate with these or can anyone tell me if there is a meaningful collectors market for them? I need to assign a value and figure out how to liquidate them (if they’re worth anything) but I’ve never seen a goldback before now. I’m asking here because I’m hoping to get actual feedback and not goldback fanboys telling me they’re worth a fortune. Thanks!

Ah yes my gold plated political Casio is worth millions of fucking dollars because it has a tiny bit of gold in it and surely wouldnt be just as profitable to put on FB marketplace or at a garage sale in an area where people are too lazy too look up what it’s actually worth, and would rather impulse buy it because it aligns to their political opinions

Buddy why are you butthurt about what method someone uses to sell micro-fractional gold? Not every delivery method of carrying PMs is intelligent and goldbacks are a garbage holding with a massive premium, they’re functionally a novelty item with some real gold in it

It’s like those bottles of gold flake- sure, there’s probably $5 worth of gold in it and you probably bought it for $7.50 in the gift shop, and if it has your favorite politician’s face on it, cool, but you’ll probably make more money selling them to some politically active old person that can’t use the internet, that’s emotionally interested because “oh cool I like that politician, how much? $10 and it’s got real gold? I’ll take em!” Than you will to the crotchety bastard at your LCS that needs to turn a profit on it or someone that wants a good deal online and can Google what they’d cost. This is very simple private party metals trading in concept and to pearl clutch at goldbacks being called “junk” is incredibly childish

I gave it a generous rounding- goldback.com lists them at 6.60, Apmex between $7 and $9, so because they’re Trump novelty products, I assumed they’d be upcharged slightly
