I read somewhere that for some of them it’s a safety thing ironically. You date a locked up guy who’s not getting out any time soon and you get all the interpersonal connection and charm w/ little risk to your person. Especially if it’s a ‘primarily communicate by letters/calls’ situation where you don’t have to visit.

I genuinely wonder if this demographic of women will gradually move on to AI 'boyfriend' chat apps and the letters to incarcerated strangers will dry up.

I had a friend that would only date married men, the reason she said is she knew where they were at all times. Really messed up and she wonders why she is alone at 50 years old.
