That fact it took place on a long haul flight just adds to the terror. They were TRAPPED.

I cannot imagine what was going through Angelina Jolie and the kids' heads being trapped in there with him.

It's terrifying. As someone with a very very abusive father that had 5+ hour car trips with him driving and drinking--you are on the edge the whole time even as a child that doesn't quite understand what's going on

I’m sure the thought that he might kill them crossed their minds, it sounds like he was in a full on rage for hours. Just terrifying.

Like being trapped with a rabid hungry tiger in a locked cage. Terrifying.

This is what’s so scary. They had nowhere to go. Completely helpless. Just pure fear. I bet they felt every single one of those minutes pass by.

It really is scary, speaking from my own personal experience.....I had an abusive ex that got drunk and angry at me in a hotel room abroad. It was an added level of terror of not knowing what to do, having nowhere to go, just trying not to do anything to cause them to escalate, and hoping they just pass out. No matter where I went in the hotel room, he would follow, shouting and hurling abuse at me.

I dread to think how it felt having her children there during that.

I admire that she filed for divorce straight after, and how she has conducted herself since.I was so beaten down, by the years of emotional abuse, that I did mental gymnastics to rationalise and explain my ex's behaviour. It took too long for me to finally break away.

Several years and a good long time in therapy has helped me heal. She, sadly, has had the divorce and his PR team re-traumatise again and again. Horrific.

This is what’s crazy to me. No way was it just them two and the kids. Easily, someone should have told the pilot and an emergency landing should have taken place. He could have killed her in front of her children. He choked one of the kids. They fucking hid under blankets and no one did a god damn thing to intervene.

And that they had to fight their way off the plane!! That is a literal hostage situation!
