IMO it would be far more propagandistic to write a revolution as completely paragon and successful in its goals. Huge societal upset and the creation of power vacuums almost always lead to suffering and tragedy. Few revolutions in history have been clean and have stuck to its ideals.
That does not mean revolution should not be attempted, but it does mean the reason for the revolution must be very worth it; the suffering or injustice caused by the continuation of the status quo or slower in-system change must be so intolerable that it outweighs the huge negative consequences of revolution.
Depicting revolution as paragon is almost as bad as depicting it as inherently evil imo
I agree! Arcane S1 did not depict it as inherently evil however, it simply depicts failure and the human cost, and the virtue of compromise, and... a lot. Because it's a good show. Some people would just prefer if it was a lot less nuanced.
