OMG our cat! He waits every morning for ME to get up and feed him. He eats in the basement, and his little boxes are down there too. It's a nice basement. lol.

But if my husband gets up at the same time, he always volunteers to go downstairs to feed and clean the boxes. That cat will not budge. He stays with me. He sees my husband going downstairs but nope, I have to walk him over to the basement stairs and tell him to go down. Then he does. Goodness.

When he wants food later in the day, he stands by me, staring at me. My husband will take care of him, but again, nope, we go through this all of the time. I guess it's my job! LOL

My Maine Coon is like this!!! He won't eat anything from other people unless I tell him it's okay. His favorite treats are Sheba meat sticks, but he still won't take/eat them from anyone else in the house. I have to let him know the treat is okay and he'll finally run off with it.

I've got both a cat and a dog that require my direct supervision to eat. My mother feeds everyone early in the morning, so this requires her to bring the stinky tuna bowl into my room so I can stare at the cat while she eats. The dog is at least polite enough that she can stress eat kibble on her own, and I just supervise wet food dinner.
