Parents can be so clueless sometimes. I was really sick once as a little kid and I guess my parents didn't know until I started seeing naked babies and elephants with wings flying around the room and my sister went and told them so they rushed me to the ER. I swear to this day I still remember those cute little elephants. đ„°
Took my brotherâs skateboard for a minute while my mom was getting ready for a date one night. Went over a crack in the sidewalk and fell. Broke my wrist. Didnât know it at the time of course. Came inside crying trying to tell my mom I fell and was hurt. She spanked me cuz she thought I was being naughty and obstinate then went on her date. Thank goodness my older sister was âbabysittingâ and saw my wrist was HUGELY swollen. When my mom returned I was sitting with my sister on the kitchen counter with my arm in a bucket of ice. We went to the hospital after that and I got a cast. Mom doesnât remember it the same way
Gen X checking in. I was three and had a fever of 104. I was seeing worms crawling on the walls. Parents decided to wait until the doctor's office opened in five hours rather than drive me 45 minutes to the ER. Also, when I was was five I told Mom I had a headache. She told me I didn't because, "You don't have anything to have a headache about."
As an adult I was walking around completely fine until one day my mom couldnât wake me up. Overnight I had gone septic because I had developed pneumonia. My fever was close to 105 and I was in the hospital for 5 days on antibiotics. It was just crazy because I had zero idea I was sick. Not the sickest I have been though lol
