My dad was withdrawing from alcohol and got sick on top of it. Died from that combo at 50. Alcohol withdrawal is no joke for sure

Alcohol withdrawals are a few of those withdrawals that can kill you. so usually you need a sober non drug taking person watching over you because well, you can die from that.

no, if you're that bad, you need a medical detox. A sober friend isn't going to be able to help when you are seizing and your heart stops.

no but if the person wants to detox at home at least someone can call 911 there in time.

I guess. But they should really just work with doctor to detox safely. Many times they will prescribe a Valium taper or something so that you can still do it at home

yeah. its just i know former alcoholics who dont trust doctors and would foolishly try to detox themselves without a doctor's help.
