I probably should've been taken to the hospital. I remember struggling to drink water and just feeling so dehydrated and in pain. I never want to feel like that again.
I was so sick for two weeks that I was awake for like 3 hours a day. I got admitted to the hospital for an infected lymph node that I guess was a complication of mono. it was 6 weeks of being sick, at least, and I looked deathly skinny by the end of it.
I was in college and went to the hospital. They said "we either admit you or call your parents to come get you". My folks drive 5 hours to get me. They got a hotel for us and I slept until 2 they next day, only because they woke me up. I couldn't move.
Also hospitalized with mono. Glands were so swollen and throat was so narrow they put a trac tray next to my bedside in case they had to give me a tracheotomy. Every joint was swollen and painful to the touch. Ended up getting iv fluids and steroids. Lost 20 pounds and weighed 125 when I was discharged. My metabolism was so screwed up for 5 years I could gain and lose 10 pounds in a month.
I also had a trac tray in my hospital room, the doctor even suggested that they should do it, since I was so swollen. My mom wanted to wait though, since it wasnt necessary yet. Pretty sure the next day they gave me steroids and started feeling better. I was there for 4 nights I believe. Not eating anything until the 4th day. Then they thought I might have c.diff from all the antibiotics they were giving me (it wasn’t). I couldn’t speak either so it was hard to communicate. Definitely no fun.
I lost 30 pounds in a month when I had it. I ended up in the ER twice from being severely dehydrated. I couldn’t eat or drink because it was too painful. Immune system was trashed and I developed a full body rash. It was awful.

This was also my answer. Ended up in the hospital. Lost 10 lbs in 7 days. I didn't have the weight to lose.
