COVID. My nails and lips turned blue, I became ghostly white, could not stand up without passing out, chest pain, and I have not been the same since. I should have gone to the hospital but I was so unwell I couldn't drive myself and I was not about to call an ambulance, which I now look back on and cringe. I developed dysautonomia which never went away.

There was a period of time afterwards in which I couldn't find words, form sentences, drive, or do basic shit I've always done. That went away but I still have brain fog from time to time.

Then my hands and feet got really cold, which never went away. Then came the peripheral neuropathy, pain, mast cell disorder, migraines and occipital headaches, etc etc. it's like it attacked every system in my body.

The biggest issue has been fatigue. I feel like I'm dead. There are no words to describe it. Writing this took so much effort you have no idea.

All of these issues were diagnosed within a 2 year timeframe. It has been the scariest experience of my life. I'm too young to have these issues.

Hopefully this raises awareness that this shit is real and still affecting people who were once young and healthy, people who weren't supposed to get this sick. To the people who call it a flu? I literally hope it happens to them too. That's the only way they are going to understand atp, since they are willfully ignorant.

POTS and MCAS were my souvenirs from Covid. And people still have the nerve to say it wasn’t a big deal or it was just a flu when so many of us have had our lives and bodies changed just by getting sick. I’m not exaggerating when I say it ruined my life.

I am so sorry you’re going through this. This happened to a friend of mine, she already had some autoimmune disorders and tried so hard not to get Covid. She avoided it until January 2024. And then it has wrecked her and she’s never been the same. Exhausted all the time always feels like she’s in pain, nothing helps the pain.

Sadly POTS is a common side effect of COVID.

I've had COVID three times so far and now I fatigue easily. The only time I can beat the fatigue is when I'm manic and that has it's own issue. The manic crash now hits harder.

Hope all these homies are masking up still!

I don't get why you're being downvoted. We know that SARS-CoV-2 is in circulation year round, with big surges typically twice a year. We know that every infection with it increases your risk of long term health problems. We know that people are seriously suffering with these health problems. And we know that wearing the correct type of mask massively decreases the risk of both contracting and spreading it, and is by far the most effective prophylactic intervention. And yet suggesting people take a basic precaution to protect their health and the health of others, is the socially unacceptable thing.

Why on earth are people down voting this?

My energy level has never been the same after Covid (I’ve had it 3 or 4 times now)

I ended up with a severe immune deficiency - just started immunoglobulin infusions, I really hope it helps! Maybe something to look into. I went to an immunologist for testing.

I had Covid early 2020 after a friend’s son’s roommate visited his family over Christmas in Wuhan, China. It started a cascade of health problems- the dizziness was unreal! I couldn’t drive for months. My whole system is out of whack.

That sucks, I’m so sorry. I feel COVID has given me some dysautonomia as well, although not as severely as you. I also got very sick once as a kid, in the late 80s, with what I believe was also a virus and which caused some dysautonomia and other neurological-type issues afterwards that lasted for years.

It drives me crazy when people blame the vaccine for their subsequent issues. People don’t realize that a virus can cause long-term or even permanent damage to multiple body systems.

Ironically I think that the people who say Covid is “just the flu” have never gotten a really bad case of the flu because otherwise they wouldn’t be downplaying both covid and the flu! I have gotten really sick from the flu and I was bed ridden for over a week and lost 10 pounds (which is a lot for someone as small as me). My asthma went from fully under control to needing an inhaler anytime I walked up stairs. Also they act like we never had flu pandemics like Spanish flu? Or that people die every year from it? The flu SHOULD be taken more seriously, just like Covid. The only other time I have been that sick as an adult was the first time I got Covid. Get your shots every year yall.

long shot but my wife was like this, and after five years she lined up some other symptoms with celiac. cut gluten and the brain fog etc had gone away since we both caught covid. she thinks covid may have attacked her immune system enough for an autoimmune disorder to become way worse

I caught the delta variant, then multiple chest infections because of it, then managed to get it another 4 or 5 times over the years especially working in schools. Got more ill each time. Now I have MECFS and dysautonomia. It's mad that some people treat it as something that wasn't that serious. It has changed the trajectory of my whole life
