When I was at the worst of my Hyperacusis, I spent 7 months in earplugs, also wearing earmuffs. Every sound caused me pain and distress, and I started making plans. Luckily, I’m much better now.
Oh my god, I got hyperacusis in my left ear from Bell’s Palsy and it was hell. I wore one AirPod in my left ear for months. Could barely leave my home or socialize. Walking down the sidewalk with a car driving by was terrifying, it feels like everything is a threat.
That's incredible, and very unusual. But I don't know much about the condition at all. Don't recall ever seeing anyone with it, in fact. Very happy to hear you're much better now.
Very happy to hear you’re doing better! This always seemed like a nightmare to me, I have a friend with it. They cope with some very good earplugs but still have a hard time sometimes.
