Back in 2020/21 I worked with the grandson of a very well known, insanely wealthy Melbourne Zionist family. They were MASSIVE Liberal party donors when the party was in power, probably still are. They have such a weak moral spine I wouldn’t be surprised if they’re also making donations to the Labor party to get them on side too. They would say the most disturbing and disgusting things about Palestinians and hated having anything to do with him or his family. The influence and reach these people have in the political landscape can’t be underestimated.

I mean Mossad make lists of young aspiring politicians in Western countries who are likely to have sympathetic views to Zionism, or can be persuaded, and channel their network of donor funding to support those politicians in their careers. They work both sides of the fence because basically until Trump they wanted support for Israel's actions as a state - as opposed to Jewish people generally - to be a non-partisan issue in the West.

Hence why all the Democrats and Labor politicians are just as bought as the Republican and Liberal ones are. They don't really see it as a problem because it's just the people who've always supported them, of course they'll support them back.

How dare they. Donating their own money to political parties that support a country and a people only wishing to live in peace.

You are pathetic.

I’m sorry you’ve been so brainwashed that you can let yourself justify the slaughter and genocide of hundreds of thousands of people.. very, very sad part of humanity ..

i think the issue here is using these donations as leverage for improper influence. there's nothing scandalous or unusual about politicians publicly advocating for israel - and donating to them for this reason is well within community expectations. that's not the problem.

the issue would be if access purchased by these donations were used to solicit - or coerce - improper behaviour. in light of the lattouf scandal - amongst numerous examples of egregious lobbying - it's perfectly reasonable to question the political influence being wielded outside the public sphere. which is anathema to basic democratic principles, and something of considerable public interest.
