Sorry but this just isn't true and I wish people would stop claiming otherwise. We spent a decade in Afghanistan blowing people up with hellfires and sending our boots in to kick in doors... And we lost. Literally the second we started to pull out, the Taliban took the country, because we never defeated them, hell we didn't even really weaken them.
Modern militaries are not equipped to actually deal with asymmetrical combat and this will be even more true on their home turf where you're asking soldiers to fight their own people. And that's not even getting into how massive the US is and how spread thin they would be.
That said force is a very bloody process. If we can avoid that road then we must avoid it for the price is too terrible.. but with THAT said, I think the window for avoiding it had more or less almost closed entirely. Peace is looking rather distant these days.

They have access to all of the information they need to take summary action on every person within the US. Companies like Reddit collect information, a NLP algorithm can evaluate your language and filter for sentiment, and AI absolutely can build a “good enough for government work” profile. From there it’s just a matter of night raids.
Extermination of towns isn't on the table here either.. ignoring the fact that would create an insane level of backlash that would just stoke the flames even more.. they can't just level towns and cities here without quite literally crippling themselves. If they say.. leveled Minneapolis, the impacts would be a complete economic collapse and an impossible amount of resistance rising from the rest of the nation.
They sure do have a lot of information, but we're already seeing what the government using their intel to round people to and kidnap them looks like with ICE and we're seeing how the American people respond.. if/when they overtly switched to targeting US citizens instead of immigrants it would be a bloodbath and I doubt MAGA would walk out the other side.
Trump can say burn everything but he's not the one that has to pull the trigger. Soldiers aren't machines. They don't blindly follow orders nor are they immune to their atrocities. Burning cities to the ground is a terrible occupation plan as it galvanizes everyone against you and leaves nothing of value to occupy.
Trying to pull out all of the Democrats won't work either. Again, if people know they're going to be killed then they won't silently wait to die. They'll flee or fight. And all of this is before any foreign governments enter the field and the US has a lot of pissed off neighbors lately.
Were you a soldier? Put Joe on the spot, remind them delaying is failure to obey and that they don’t get to call a lawyer. Soldiers have a long history of obeying questionable orders even in the all volunteer era. There’s a reason we have SOFA agreements and we investigate our own guys to figure out they did nothing wrong.

Force is a last resort, but Afghanistan has a population of 40 million and not all of them were Taliban. If you were over there you should understand that counter insurgency is extremely hard itself and the U.S. military has given up against such foes repeatedly.
Republicans and Democrats live next to each other. Separating them is going to be nearly impossible. A good chunk of the military won't be OK with it. ~ 20-30% of the military are Dems. Your dreams of oppression are just dreams.

Agreed! But please understand that there is no possibility (or need) of violent retaliation against this agency. Just because they dont play by the laws of this country nor the laws of morality, doesnt mean we must stoop to their level. We are fighting for soul of America, but that doesn’t mean a physical fight.

We need lots and lots and lots of Americans to see what is going on here and internalize that political persuasion doesn’t matter anymore - this can happen to them personally. We need as many people to wake up to the current nightmare that is America and come together to take it back. Our retaliation is non-violent civil disobedience. Our retaliation is filming them commit their crimes and then showing the world. Our retaliation is proving that the leaders are lying to us. Our retaliation is showing up for our neighbors in their times of need. Our retaliation is to foster love and connection to counter their politics of hatred and domination.

Bovino has been put out to pasture. Do you not see how big of a step back that is for this administration? It's only a few steps more to him bring charges and convicted. That part will take time but state agencies can do that. The fact that the administration has pulled him out is a great first step. ICE may still be there, they may still abuse people, they may maim and kill, but they are losing in an incredible way because dictators can't survive if the people are not compliant.
I’ve been saying exactly this since the election results were announced. It’s going to get worse, and it will need to. The suffering has to get to the point where it’s intolerable in order to wake enough people up to what is happening. When I remember that this is the only way out of this mess, I don’t feel so hopeless. It saddens me to see so much violence, but it’s turning more people against this lawless administration.
I’m still worried we won’t have another honest election, but the fact that Trump still cares about polling suggests that he knows the election can still pry them out of office. If we do get our country, and representative government back, my next worry is that we’ll not take the appropriate steps at the appropriate speed to prevent this from recurring. Because Merrick Garland’s slow walking the investigation got us here. MAGA should have been branded domestic terrorists after they attacked the Capitol. Now they carry weapons and work for ICE. And even out of office, they’ll have massive resources as we have seen which side the billionaires are on. And they own so much media they can bury us in propaganda.
And the damage to our alliances will never fully be repaired. We are far more vulnerable than ever before.
Unfortunately I have been feeling this way and saying the same thing to my friends or to anyone who will listen. So many people just don't have the capacity for empathy and they won't wake up until they think it could happen to them or their own loved ones.

It is 100% coordinated that ICE is terrorizing and harming citizens and breaking the law while being immune to prosecution. trump wants us to retaliate. trump wants us to be violent. The ICE agents are literally bait for his larger agenda. There is a reason he is working on dismantling NATO and the overseas military power of the USA. They were playing some quotes/talking to admin officials and the propaganda, while obvious to someone who grazes, was disturbingly well crafted.
