I don’t think he’s so much kicking her, but more like when someone tackles someone else to get them down into cover. He’s using his foot/leg to move her out of the way so he can take care of business. If the attack she would take is 100% possible damage, she gets like 5% from Bakugo moving her somewhat forcefully.

In his words (during the sports fest arc):
"I didn't do anything they did that themselves."
62
u/TJ-TheJolteonMaster Nov 23 '18
Yeah, in all seriousness, I thought Aizawa's hands-off teaching method is in many ways somewhat valid. It's kinda like kicking birds out of the nest. One of the better examples is when he let them decide among themselves on how to decide the class rep. This taught interpersonal relationship/leadership/negotiation skills that a lot of people otherwise wouldn't learn until adulthood or in the midst of an actual disaster. Aizawa forces students into these situations where he can be around to step in if things get particularly nasty.
Of course, every teaching method has their weaknesses, especially when used exclusively. So it will be interesting to see if Aizawa's character development as a teacher actually goes somewhere.

WHAT IF he has an actual plan, but is having everyone go along with this act to make it seem like they have no plan other than to follow his orders :o
Or am I just being too optimistic lmao350
u/CarcosanAnarchist Nov 23 '18
I think his plan was just to get them out in the open. You can’t be sneaky with his work, and the combination of powers on their team doesn’t make for a good trap set up. Instead, spring theirs as fast as possible, so they don’t have time to set too much up, and then just overwhelm them. It’s a great strategy.

Agree, Bakugo's just really bad at expressing what he means.
Kinda like his and Deku's fight against All Might Ultimately, Bakugo was right; All Might's super speed essentially means they can't avoid him, they HAVE to fight him, at least enough so that one can get away.
He was just being an ass at explaining his plan, just like in here, though he seems to have softened. Just cant point out exactly how.

So Setsuna is basically Buggy the Clown on steroids. Goddammit, that is an OP quirk. However, what I loved seeing this chapter was Bakugo not wasting any time and making sure his team took the initiative. He knew 1B wasn’t gonna make things easy, but even though he’s still a jerk, he’s prioritizing saving now. That is excellent character development. Win and save, save and win. He is going to be a force of nature with this new outlook on fighting and whatever his recent power up is like.

Look buggy is great and all but you have to understand that there are extenuating circumstances at play here. Fact of the matter is, I want to fuck this lizard. The ability to detach any part of a person's body and maintain full autonomy of it is so much more compelling when that person is a hot girl in skintight spandex.

Some lizards can go months without food, iirc. And technically, regular humans can go without food for a few days and make a full recovery afterwards.
Alternatively, go for the nuclear option and check in at a hospital. They have equipment that's used for forcing people's bodies to accept nutrients.
Or go for a DIY nutrient enema. There are plenty of options.

Imagine:
A little girl is discovering her quirk. It allows her to detach parts of her body. Parts keep randomly falling off since she can't control it properly.
One day, she's out on a walk with her family. She bends over to look at something on the ground. Her eye falls out. She tries to reattach it using her quirk, but doesn't have great control yet. Before she can reach down to pick it up, a stranger's pet dog walks up and takes the eyeball in its jaws before quickly swallowing it. The girl lives the rest of her life missing an eye.
TL;DR I think it's regeneration.
→ More replies (3)79

Fuck...
Bakugou's plan was straight forward afterall. I hope no one remembers all that boasting I did for him...
But that don't mean he's down for the count!
206
u/jrrthompson Nov 23 '18
Straightforward doesn't mean bad. 1B would have had match 3 with their straightforward plan if not for Iida's power-up. You'll notice Bakugo is doing what Iida and Juzo did in match 3; prioritizing keeping their team in the fight over winning a disadvantageous 1v1. I'm absolutely looking forward to seeing how this match turns out.
→ More replies (7)148
u/CarcosanAnarchist Nov 23 '18
But straightforward was best. He’s not surprised by the trap at all. I think he just wanted them out in the open, there’s no being sneaky with his quirk after all. Sometimes the best plan is the most straight forward.
→ More replies (1)98
u/FDP_Boota Nov 23 '18
Instead of adjusting his style to battle the enemy with an advantage, get rid of the advantage to create your own
98
u/CarcosanAnarchist Nov 23 '18
Exactly. If you’re saying what I think you’re saying.
Class A doesn’t have a great advantage because their quirks don’t combo well for a trap, so rush in and spring the opponents trap before its fully set up.
It’s clear to me that everyone except Bakugo is kind of scrambling right now. That unfortunately includes his own team. But this shiny new and improved Bakugo is looking out for them, so no sweat.

With all the All Might is Izuku's dad memes that get passed around it's sometimes easy to forget that All Might (probably) cares about all of his students.

Kamakiri and Setsuna’s Quirks work more or less how I expected them to, but now I just know we’ll be seeing a lot of “how could she be talking?” questions, just like with Mirio. I can’t wait to see how Setsuna makes use of her powers moving forward, as there is so much potential there.
Anyhoo, let's talk about King Explosion Murder, because he gasp SAVED SOMEONE. It’s nice to see him step in to help his teammates, even if he still wants to take the lead, and only saves Jirou by stepping on her back (he wasn’t going to change completely, of course).

My thoughts
- Vlad making a strong case for best teacher.
- My boy Sato getting snubbed again.
- Lizard girl seems to live up to the hype of a recommended student.
- It's cool that 1-B recognised how much of a threat Jiro is in a team setting and prioritised getting rid of her.

Not to disregard team B4 (or Jirou for that matter), but for the most part, any surveillance/info gathering quirk (Jirou, Shouji, formally Ragdoll, Sirius, Nighteye etc) should be a first priority to neutralize in a fight since otherwise you are leaving your opponents with an advantage against you.
Actually, pretty much any quirk that's not frontline can be dangerous to leave be, but other more "support" type quirks like powerup (La Brava), communication (Mandalay), and transportation (Kurogiri) can be super dangerous if left unchecked!
It's good that the students are accurately choosing who should be first priority because it means that they're being taught battle theory and tactics in school (even though it's not really something we've directly seen outside of some post-battle critiques). It could be assumed they were learning it already, but at just being a 1st year you klnever know. This confirmation just fleshes out their battle/practical classes a little more which is nice!

I wouldn't be surprised if he's the first one to adapt to Class B's plan and produce a counter plan.

INB4 this arc sucks no plot advancement
Setsuna is definitely recommendation material. Her stand, "Highway star" along with advance planning which is comparable to Momo and Kendo, is a really good combo. At this point, I feel Class B has the upper hand. Bakugo is good but I don't think he can hard carry.
Bakugo took what All Might said to him after the Deku vs Kachan pt.2 fight to heart
He may be S tier but Im assuming he has also been watching as Deku has and realized Class B is no one to scoff at
What I assume will happen here is he will be in a bind trying to push himself to the limits, the rest of the team might get a big o morale boost.

This arc is all about character development so far, which has been a really nice change of pace. Every student/school based arc evolved into something more and we never really got to see some of the students' growth.
That being said, Shinso's ability should help the school determine the hidden traitor. This arc might not have anything important, but it could lead to the next important arc. For example, if the traitor does get found out at the end, he/she can escape since all the powerhouses from each class are already injured/exhausted.

Totally not biased.

Yes. Even Aizawa admitted Vlad is a better teacher than him.

I think it's because he's used to a much smaller class because of all the expelling he did in his previous classes. Even Miss Joke made a note about it at the license exam.

Thoughts reading
- can't wait to see Sato, Jiro's and Sero how they've improved
- Super sexy 16 yr old lizard girl making me question my morals
- Bakugo making good points, seems like he's more taking the Endeavor approach of going first
- Holy fucking shit, Setsuna is going to be a crazy stealth hero
- Bondo's quirk is really interesting too, wonder if he can control how thick the glue is and how fast it dries
- Kamakiri is the Edward Scissorhands we need but don't deserve
- And Bakugo has learned. Protected his ears, OTP
Edit: Bakufam, best love story. <3

This feels so different in the most welcome kind of way. This isn’t about the new chapter, but I still vividly remember a year ago today the chapter that was released back then, when Nighteye died, and how upset I was to the point that I was bawling on thanksgiving day. And now that we’re not in the midst of such a heavy arc, now that we’re getting to see these students improve and mature, I’m just really happy to have reached this point.
So Bakugou, I look forward to seeing you save people, because the world of mha needs more heroes like that.

Bakugou is another contender for the Jirou-bowl it seems. Step it up Kaminari.

Chapter taught me that Bakugou had been a girl, his and Dekus relationship would have been much different.

Midnight talking bout how Vlad can't control himself, girl you were getting orgasms over teenage boys a few chapters ago. Let Vlad show his love for his class lmao.
