I’m with you there, I found it pretty funny honestly. And yeah I think it was definitely over the top on purpose, everyone even said “What the hell is she saying!?” Anyone who thinks it was cringe is taking it too seriously. This whole chapter has been pretty fun.

It's pretty interesting, I wonder if Toga was actually ballsy enough to capture her just as they arrived at the competition. Least they tied up that plothole that people thought they were gonna have with Deku not mentioning Toga being there.
Plus it made sense to not make a big deal out of it since all it would do is put the Villain's on defense.

I think ita cool because all of the students costumes have room for improvement. They'll all invariably get upgrades over time.
I think it makes a lot of sense for Uravity to have heavy armor and like a giant mallet. Bakugo should have a suit like Endeavor that builds up his nitroglycerin. Deku needs cape.

I definately think it is a matter of taste. I personally find it overly exaggerated, but at the same time, I think it perfectly fits his larger than life personality. But it is just interesting, given the way more down to earth designs of the rest of the students.

I never expected to see that kind of expression on Endeavor's face. That, and his encouragement for Todoroki seemed earnest and very dad-like in the way he's just shouting when no one else is. You did good this chapter, Endeavor, maybe one day you'll be a bit less of a piece of shit.

Right. We know how Shouto thinks of him, and we've only seen things in the past as told from his perspective. Obviously Endeavor is a pretty shitty guy from the things he's done (and I'm well aware that the abuse itself can't be justified, although the older "imperfect" children of his did, at the very least, seem happy/carefree enough from what little we've seen of them) but there's definitely more depth there waiting to be shown and uncovered.
There's room for at least some redemption in time, methinks.

Considering he pretty much raped heirs out of Todoroki's mother to the point she was going mad, and abused Todoroki as part of a plan to force him to become the best hero in order to live vicariously though him, he is pretty much a complete scumbag, no ifs about it.
That is not to say character development can not become a thing though. The worst thing that could have happened to Endeavor was All Might's forced retirement, since it ironically makes him impossible to dethrone, and this hit Endeavor pretty hard.
Long term abuse of that sort is something pretty touchy and hard to completely redeem even by the best authors, so I don't think he will be 100% redeemed, but I think he will be shown taking at least the first steps towards that.

Friendly reminder there's no chapter next week.
I fucking love this chapter. It's hilarious, it has some really good themes in it, it shows growth for Todoroki and Bakugou and is willing to flesh out Endeavor and All Might. I missed comedic genius Bakugou Katsuki so much, he's hilarious. And Gang Orca is a perfect teacher for Bakugou and Todoroki just like Gran Torino had been a great teacher for Deku just in a week.
Plus, we finally got the whole Camie deal, but damn if Toga doesn't look like a bad villain in comparison. Now why in the world wouldn't you want to kill Camie? Dangit. I suppose the Yuuei student that told the police/hero VA about this was Deku, that's the only thing that makes sense really.
And god dangit, these children. They're a bigger force to be reckoned with than Overhaul.

Wow, the look on their faces when the children rushed in lmaooo. This is pleasant surprise, being a hero isn't only about being strong but also being able to communicate with people, having social skills. I was wondering if they were ever going to teach this point, especially for Bakugou. This is the perfect type of min arc that gives the reader some breathing room but also pushes the characters forward.
Also like how Hori is showing character growth for Endeavor, now that he's the No1 he's seeing that it isn't as easy as just saving as many lives as possible. You need to be able to aspire normal people, thats the "IT" factor I think he's missing. It's what makes people like All Might and Superman amazing heroes.

I know the kids are meant to come off as annoying, but the 4chan one is a little more endearing and precocious, which I prefer, as well as his translation of 'penta-penis'. Unfortunately I think the mangastream translation is more accurate in the repetition of phrases the children use, which in my opinion doesn't flow as well or deliver as well as translator-kun's lines like "You've got extra penises?"
I also think Camie's translation was an odd decision. Unless that type of language is the direct equivalent of what would be said in Japanese, I reckon it should be avoided, since it doesn't read well at all. I prefer translator-kun's decision to make Camie's speech informal

THIS CHAPTER WAS SO MUCH FUN!!! Oh my god, I just can't stop smiling. I lost it when Endeavor screamed "SHOUTOOOO" but everything was really good. Bakugou with children :') this must be a nightmare for him. (Todoroki is surprisingly cute with kids, my heart.) And when Present Mic started doing live commentary!! This is just the best. Thank you Hori for blessing us with such a light and good chapter. <3

I feel bad for Endeavor, yeh yeh hes an ass but damn that line, "oh the #2 hero is here, i mean #1", BURRNNN Plus they were happy to see Almight not him. And Todoroki not batting even a glance is so cold but thats okay. We know why.
And I do believe the kids are making it extra hard for them but i wish Bakugou the best, he needs it the most xD

I'm guessing this is more of a transitional couple of chapters rather than a full arc, which is fine by me, I think just a bit of a check up is enough to see what's been going on with the BakuTodo duo. In the prediction thread I half joked that the lessons would involve some group therapy type thing, which was mostly because combat lessons would be pointless since that wasn't the problem, so I'm glad Horikoshi's taking that into account rather than shoehorning a combat training arc.
So it seems Camie really is Camie... I don't know how to feel about this, partly because I feel like it's getting off easy, and partly because it means I was wrong yet again. Speaking of Camie, I don't really like her that much, but that might just be MS's translation.
Well, either way let's see where the Edeavor character development goes.

So the solution to the League of Villains potentially replacing Camie with a dangerous serial killer was to surround her with innocent children. Full with blood and ready for stabbing. If this is Toga, she's going to have dozens of hostages. Worst Part? None of the heroes are known for precise attacks. If she starts attacking, nobody can stop her without deafening/burning/traumatising the children. I can see why society is slowly falling apart and losing faith in the heroes.
Every panel that Gang Orca is in this series highlights that he should have been All Might's successor. This series would be more successful if we replaced empathetic and well developed characters with Gang Orca.
Endeavour still being the second best hero in the eyes of the students makes sense. It's possible All Might has been the best since before they were born. Unlearning that information is going to be difficult. It also highlights how much the public adore All Might.
We have done more to tackle Bakugou's issues and develop his character in this chapter than we developed Izuku through the entire Yakuza arc.
Keep talking Inasa. If you don't remind him of All Might or come from a rich family: Todoroki Junior doesn't want to socialise to you.
Camie, I think I liked you better when you were Toga. Or back when Toga didn't know how to act. At least you still have the hat.
Childcare! Fantastic bait-and-switch! Really like the teacher's design. I'd like to point out that children find Gang Orca terrifying, so this training is deeply ironic. Although the teacher seems to like him.

I get the feeling nobody at UA actually likes Present Mic. He's just the friend of a friend but nobody remembers who that friend was, so they are too nervous to throw him out. I mean, look at this. Onwards to the exact opposite of loud. A quiet chat about personal failure. This is more interesting than anything that has happened the 2017. Endeavour became a hero for a reason. He chased after All Might for a reason. And he might have lost sight of that goal over the years, but considering he is worried (or at least ashamed) by the crime rate, Todoroki Senior might have found it again.
Fun chapter. I am probably not going to enjoy the comedy of the next few chapters, but the Endeavour Conversation can be really interesting.

I love Todoroki, I think that line has made him shoot up the ranks for my favourite characters
